The private marina is governed by the ‘Mooring Areas and Waterways conduct rules’ and the ‘Berth Lease Agreement’.
Herewith an explanation of the terms used relating to the above and what it means in practical terms.
The tidal range around Eden Island is extremely SMALL in comparison to other parts of the world and as such does not result in any major navigational problems for skippers of vessels wishing to navigate around our waters. The variance in the height of tide is roughly 1 meter above or below the average Mean Sea Level.
Please view the pdf document for more detail on tidal levels and basin depths.
Our insurance provider is MUA Insurance via our Insurance Broker African Risk Transfer (ART). https://www.africanrisktransfer.com/contact/
We would also like to explain the insurance claims process at this point.
When an insurable incident occurs VMA and MC Committee members should be notified as soon as possible so that the VMA can arrange for the insurance assessor to visit. Please note that whilst every effort to mitigate any further loss must be taken (e.g., water turned off if there is a burst pipe, etc.) no works should commence prior to the insurance assessors visit as this could null and void your claim.
Intercom phones are installed in every home. These allow communication with the VMA offices and between homes. Should you be experiencing problems with your intercom please call the Call Centre on +248 434 6111.
DSTV Multichoice from South Africa offer satellite television. Homeowners can apply directly through the Multichoice outlet in Victoria or the VMA can assist. Palmier Eden Club House is a poolside Cafe and bar at Eden VMA clubhouse - great location: next to the tennis court and gym.
The Restaurant has a lounge, children’s playground, swimming pool and play area. Palmier can also cater for private functions, however prior arrangement with VMA is essential and a breakables deposit is payable. The VMA reserves the right to approve or decline such requests.
Security within the Eden Island Village as well as in the commercial areas of the marina is manned 24 hours a day. There is only one road access point to the island via land over Eden Bridge which is monitored by CCTV camera. Additionally, there are regular patrols by our Security Officers which adds another layer of security.
All Units are connected to the VMA and the Security team via an intercom phone in case of an emergency. Furthermore, alarms are also fitted to many units and are available to be fitted to others should owners require this.
All Homeowners, tenants including invited guests must register at our Call Centre to allow entry into the Eden Island Village. Kindly ensure that you have been registered on the biometric facial recognition system.
